Hands-on Workshop on eSim | At Department of Electrical Engineering, IIT Bombay
As part of the EE204 course, the eSim Team hosted a Hands-on Workshop on eSim on 11th October 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM in GG401, Department of Electrical Engineering, IIT Bombay. The session was conducted by Mr. Sumanto Kar, Mr. Varad Patil, and Ms. Shanthi Priya from the FOSSEE Project, IIT Bombay, and was delivered to the 2nd Year B.Tech Electrical Engineering students. The workshop introduced participants to eSim, an open-source EDA tool developed under the FOSSEE initiative, focusing on circuit design, simulation, and analysis. Throughout the session, students experienced a complete workflow from installing eSim to designing and analyzing real-world circuits. The team explained the potential applications of eSim and demonstrated practical use cases through live hands-on examples.A continuation session was conducted on 29th October 2025 (Wednesday),at Lecture Hall Complex LC102 as part of the same course, focusing on advanced circuit simulation and analysis. Students designed and tested analog amplifier circuits and explored various analysis techniques in eSim. The session further enhanced their understanding of analog circuit behavior and strengthened their practical skills in using open-source EDA tools, effectively bridging the gap between theoretical learning and real-world circuit design experience.
