eSim Hands-on Workshop at Cambridge Institute of Technology, Bengaluru
Mr. Sumanto conducted a 3-hour hands-on workshop on eSim at Cambridge Institute of Technology, Bengaluru. The workshop focused on introducing participants to open-source EDA tools and practical circuit simulation using eSim.
The session witnessed participation from around 55+ students and faculty members, who actively engaged in the workshop activities and discussions. The interaction provided practical exposure to electronic circuit design and simulation workflows using open-source platforms.
The workshop received positive feedback from participants and contributed towards promoting the adoption of eSim and strengthening awareness of open-source EDA tools in academia.

India Electronics Week (IEW) 2026 eSim Talk
Date: 13th-15th May 2026
Mr. Sumanto delivered a talk on “eSim: An Open-Source EDA Tool for Education” at India Electronics Week (IEW) 2026 under the Electronic Rocks Track. The session focused on promoting open-source EDA tools and their applications in education, research, and industry.
The interaction witnessed active participation from students, professors, researchers, startup representatives, and industry professionals from across the electronics ecosystem. The session received positive feedback, with attendees showing strong interest in eSim and open-source simulation platforms.
The event also provided opportunities for networking and discussions with professionals from academia, startups, and multinational companies for potential collaborations. During the event, more than 110 stalls covering domains such as VLSI, PCB Design, IoT, Embedded Systems, and AI with Electrical Engineering applications were explored.
The interaction contributed towards strengthening the open-source EDA ecosystem and encouraging wider adoption of eSim in academic and industry communities.

FOSSEE eSim Interaction at SGGSIE&T Nanded

Sri. Varad Patil, Research Assistant, FOSSEE, IIT Bombay, visited Shri Guru Gobind Singhji Institute of Engineering and Technology (SGGSIE&T), Nanded, for a meaningful discussion on the implementation of eSim software and open-source EDA tools in academic laboratories.
The interaction was conducted with Dr. Siddhant Gudhe, Head of the Department, Electrical Engineering, Dr. Paramjeet Singh Jamwal, faculty members, and EESA Student Coordinators, focusing on enhancing practical learning through open-source simulation platforms.

eSim Webinar with The Institution of Engineers India

The webinar on eSim was successfully conducted as part of the initiative to promote awareness and adoption of open source tools in engineering education and practice. The session highlighted the growing importance of open source technologies in the engineering domain and featured discussions on the role of eSim in Electronics Design Automation (EDA). Shri Himanshu Bhatt, CEng, Secretary, IEI South Gujarat Local Centre, addressed the participants on the concept of open source software and its increasing adoption across various technology sectors.
Mr. Sumanto Kar, Assistant Project Manager, FOSSEE, IIT Bombay, presented an overview of the eSim ecosystem, its key features, ongoing development activities, and collaboration opportunities. A live demonstration of the software was conducted by Sri. Varad Patil, showcasing circuit design and simulation capabilities. The webinar was further enriched by the presence of Prof. Prabhu Ramachandran, Principal Investigator, FOSSEE, IIT Bombay, who shared insights on the contribution of eSim towards strengthening India’s semiconductor ecosystem in line with the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat.

Industry Academia Interaction at SIT Pune under Industry Conclave 2026

Mr. Sumanto Kar, Assistant Project Manager at FOSSEE, IIT Bombay, had been invited as an Industry Representative by the Department of EXTC at Symbiosis Institute of Technology, Pune, for the Industry Conclave 2026. The conclave provided an opportunity to interact with faculty members, students, and industry professionals from varied disciplines. The event featured student project showcases, panel discussions on emerging technologies, laboratory visits, and discussions on internships, training, placements, and collaborative opportunities.During the conclave, Mr. Sumanto Kar shared insights from the FOSSEE Project at IIT Bombay and discussed how open source tools such as eSim are helping bridge the gap between academia and industry by making Electronics Design Automation (EDA) learning and practice more accessible. The interaction concluded with meaningful discussions focused on strengthening collaboration between academia and industry and promoting open source technologies in engineering education.
