  • eSim talk at Open Source Summit Mumbai India 2026

    The Open Source Summit Mumbai India 2026, held at Jio Convention Centre, BKC, brought together students, professionals, and open-source enthusiasts from various backgrounds. During the event, Mr. Sumanto Kar and Ms. Shanthi Priya from the eSim team conducted a session on eSim, highlighting its applications as an open-source Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tool for circuit design and simulation.

    The session witnessed participation from around 100 attendees and provided an opportunity to interact with students and professionals from different states, IITs, and various MNCs. The discussions and interactions helped strengthen awareness and engagement within the open-source and electronics community.

  • eSim Hands-on Session at FDP Program, ASIET

    Date: 15/06/2026

    Mr. Sumanto Kar, Assistant Project Manager, FOSSEE, IIT Bombay, conducted a 2-hour hands-on session on eSim at an FDP program organized by Adi Shankaracharya Institute of Engineering and Technology in collaboration with IEEE PES and IEEE IAS. The session focused on introducing participants to eSim and its applications in circuit design and simulation.

    Around 30 participants attended the session and actively engaged in the hands-on activities and discussions. The session was well received and helped create awareness about open-source EDA tools and their use in academic and research activities.

  • eSim Presentation at FOSS Maintainers Meetup

    Date: 13/06/2026

    Mr. Sumanto Kar, Assistant Project Manager, FOSSEE, IIT Bombay, attended the FOSS Maintainers Meetup organized by FOSS United, where he also presented eSim and highlighted its applications as an open-source Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tool for circuit design and simulation.

    The event provided an opportunity to interact with around 30 maintainers from various companies actively contributing to open-source projects, along with students attending the meetup. The discussions and interactions helped strengthen awareness about open-source technologies and encouraged engagement with the broader FOSS ecosystem.

  • eSim Hands-on Session with Academy of Technology (AOT), Kolkata and IEI Students Chapter

    Date: 07/06/2026

    Mr. Sumanto Kar, Assistant Project Manager, FOSSEE, IIT Bombay, conducted a 2-hour hands-on session on eSim in collaboration with the Academy of Technology (AOT), Kolkata, and The Institution of Engineers (India) Students Chapter. The session was organized to introduce students to open-source Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools and their applications in circuit design and simulation.

    During the session, Mr. Sumanto Kar provided an overview of the eSim ecosystem, its key features, and its role in engineering education and research. Participants were guided through practical demonstrations of circuit design and simulation workflows using eSim, enabling them to gain hands-on experience with open-source EDA tools.

    The session witnessed active participation from around 78 students, who engaged enthusiastically in the demonstrations and discussions. The interaction helped strengthen awareness of open-source technologies in electronics engineering and encouraged participants to explore eSim for academic projects, learning, and research activities. The session concluded with an interactive question-and-answer segment and positive feedback from the attendees.

  • eSim Session under Faculty Development Program on Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and Industry 5.0

    Date: 02/06/2026

    Mr. Sumanto Kar, Assistant Project Manager, FOSSEE, IIT Bombay, conducted a session on eSim as part of the Faculty Development Program on Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and Industry 5.0, organized by Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida, in collaboration with NIT Patna.

    During the session, Mr. Sumanto Kar introduced participants to the eSim ecosystem and highlighted the importance of open-source Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools in engineering education and research. He demonstrated the key features and capabilities of eSim through practical examples and showcased its applications in circuit design and simulation.

    The session witnessed active participation from more than 70 faculty members from various institutions. The interaction provided an opportunity to discuss the role of open-source technologies in modern engineering education and encouraged participants to explore eSim for teaching, learning, and research activities. The session concluded with an interactive discussion and positive feedback from the attendees.
