FOSSEE, IIT Bombay successfully conducted the eSim Meet & Greet Session on 25th July 2025, bringing together faculty, researchers, and industry professionals to explore the capabilities of eSim, an open-source EDA tool for circuit design, simulation, and PCB development. The session featured a keynote by Prof. Kannan Moudgalya on the importance of building indigenous open-source tools, followed by insights into collaboration opportunities by Payel Mukherjee. The eSim team — Sumanto Kar, Varad Patil, and Shanthi Priya — provided a comprehensive overview of eSim’s features, application areas, learning resources, and opportunities for community contribution. Faculty partners Inderjit Singh Dhanjal and Dr. Ritu Pahwa and many more shared their experiences using eSim, and Wladek Grabinski spoke about industry collaboration through IHP MicroelectronicsThe event provided an excellent platform to engage with the growing open-source hardware community. Participants gained a deeper understanding of how eSim can be integrated into academic and industrial workflows. 'National FOSSEE Awards' ceremony at Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay
On 17th July FOSSEE celebrated the 'National FOSSEE Awards' ceremony at Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay . Since its inception in 2009, FOSSEE has been supporting the Free & Open Source software (FOSS) community through training, promotion of FLOSS, and user support. FOSSEE envisions an ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ where academia and industry use FOSS, wherever applicable, thus adding value to the Indian economy and strengthen it. Thanks to IIT Bombay, the Ministry of Education, Government of India, for providing all the support to the project. However, it would have never been possible for FOSSEE to reach out to the potential learners and develop them without the continuous and unwavering support of the contributors and partners of the project. This Award Ceremony was a gesture towards expressing gratitude and thankfulness to all the patrons and contributors of FOSSEE and to encourage the students who aim at achieving excellence in academics. Congratulations to all those who have humbled us by accepting the award! Thanks to all the professors, corporate professionals and students who are associated with FOSSEE
