Faculty Development Program on VLSI Design using eSim & Open PDKs

The FOSSEE Project, IIT Bombay successfully organized an online Faculty Development Program (FDP) on "VLSI Design using eSim & Open PDKs" to introduce participants to open-source VLSI design workflows using eSim and Open PDKs through expert lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on sessions. The four-day program covered topics including open-source EDA development, digital sovereignty, analog and digital circuit simulation, modified nodal analysis, SKY130 PDK, IHP Open PDK, and EDA tools, delivered by experts from academia and industry.
The FDP witnessed active participation from over 200 attendees representing institutions across different states in India. The program included valuable contributions from Prof. Prabhu Ramachandran, Principal Investigator, Prof. Kannan M. Moudgalya, Founding Principal Investigator, Mrs. Usha Viswanathan, Senior Project Manager, Mrs. Vineeta Ghavri, Senior Project Manager, and members of the eSim team including Mr. Sumanto Kar , Mr. Varad Patil and Ms. Shanthi Priya, The event also featured sessions by Dr. R. Maheswari, Prof. Sangeeta Mangesh, Prof. Inderjit Singh Dhanjal, Steve Hoover, Prof. Rakesh Sinha, Vipul Sharma, Prof. Mourina Ghosh, and Wladek Grabinski, with the concluding session delivered by Mrs. Payel Mukherjee, Senior Project Manager, FOSSEE, IIT Bombay. The team expressed gratitude to all speakers and participants for their active engagement and support throughout the program.
