UbuCon India 2025
UbuCon India 2025, Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru
In November 2025, the FOSSEE team presented two significant talks at UbuCon India 2025, held at the prestigious Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, hosted in the Department of Computer Science and Automation (CSA). On 15 November, the session titled “eSim on Ubuntu: Open Source EDA and PDKs for Circuit Design with Snap, Docker and AI” highlighted the evolution of eSim as a comprehensive open-source EDA toolchain. Delivered by Sumanto Kar, Varad Patil, Shanthi Priya and Aditya Minocha, along with insights from Prof. Prabhu Ramachandran (Aerospace Engineering, IIT Bombay), the talk demonstrated eSim’s integrated schematic capture, Ngspice/Verilator simulation, mixed-signal workflows, support for open-source PDKs, and the use of Snap & Docker for scalable, reproducible deployments across academic and research environments.
On 16 November, FOSSEE contributed to the Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning track with the talk “Streamlining Pedagogical Content Creation – A Hierarchical Agent-Based Architecture for the Procedural Generation of Multimodal FOSS Tutorials.” Presented by Aditya Bhattacharya (RGIPT), Sumanto Kar (FOSSEE, IIT Bombay), and Prof. Kannan Moudgalya (Director, EduPyramids and Former IIT Bombay Professor), this session was also conducted at the CSA Department, IISc. The presentation showcased an AI-driven framework designed to autonomously generate structured, multimodal educational content for FOSS tools, demonstrating how hierarchical agents can accelerate tutorial creation, enhance consistency, and support large-scale dissemination of open-source learning resources.
