Testimonial on eSim

I started my journey with FOSSEE as a Summer Fellow in 2020, and since then, I have been associated with the organization for over five years. Being part of FOSSEE has been one of the most enriching phases of both my academic and professional journey. During my time here, I had the privilege of contributing to several impactful initiatives, especially the development and promotion of eSim, an open-source EDA tool. This experience not only strengthened my technical skills in circuit simulation, PCB design, and optimization but also deepened my appreciation for the role of open-source tools in democratizing education.

What truly stood out to me was the collaborative and inclusive work environment at FOSSEE. I had the opportunity to work alongside a dedicated team of developers, researchers, and interns from diverse backgrounds. This broadened my perspective and helped me grow significantly in terms of leadership and project management. Organizing large-scale training sessions, mentoring contributors, and interacting with students and faculty across the country instilled in me a strong sense of responsibility, rational thinking, and—most importantly—the drive to give back and serve the community. Thinking outside the box and stepping beyond my comfort zone became second nature through this journey.

The guidance and mentorship I received from senior team members were instrumental in nurturing a research-oriented mindset and helping me apply my knowledge to real-world problems. FOSSEE gave me the freedom to explore, experiment, and contribute meaningfully to the open-source ecosystem. The experience played a pivotal role in shaping my technical competencies, problem-solving abilities, and overall professional outlook. It also helped me pursue my MTech. at IIT Bombay and secure job offers from multiple companies like Lyric and National Fertilizers Ltd.

I remain deeply grateful to FOSSEE for providing such a dynamic and empowering platform, and I would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone passionate about open-source development, education, and collaborative innovation.
