Testimonial on eSim

testimonial text:

Many may wonder what a Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) faculty could evident the goodness of eSim, an open source EDA (Electronic Design Automation).

My first journey with eSim started with a workshop at IIT Bombay in 2019. Being a CSE faculty I thought as like many other workshops I will participate and learn some circuit design, so I enrolled for this eSim workshop to experience IIT Bombay campus as well. But there was a great twist, I needed to design and submit the circuit using eSim to confirm my participation. So it’s my turn to evident the capability of CSE faculty in circuit design. The spoken tutorial videos on eSim really helped me a lot to accomplish this circuit design task to a greater level.  From then, eSim has become the most inspiring open source tool and I have designed & published eSim circuits and mentored many of my students as well as a part of digital assignments. Now we completed and published approximately 120 circuits in the eSim circuit simulation project. With the help of Dr. Kannan sir and the FOSSEE team, I tried to fit our students in all possible ventures like Summer internship, Circuit development, Hackathon etc.

Last but not least, when a CSE faculty could make a remarkable footprint in eSim there is a huge scope for everyone (Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentation, Mechanical) who deals with circuits. Let us use and spread the benefit of this open source tool and there are many ventures available to contribute our ideas for the development of eSim platforms as well. Hands are open to hold, let us join to march towards the motto of “We are Ready to Help, and to be Helped”.
