For the Circuit Design and Simulation Marathon using eSim, conducted by FOSSEE, IIT Bombay and VLSI System Design Corp.Pvt. Ltd, I have designed and analysed a Dickson Charge Pump using 130nm CMOS Process. First I increased my understanding of the CMOS technology, using the Udemy course on 'VSD - Circuit Design & SPICE Simulations - Part 1' by Mr. Kunal Ghosh. Later I did an extensive Literature Survey on the various Charge Pumps existing in today's world, and the applications of them. I'd referred close to two dozen research papers, discussion forums, standard textbooks and blogs on the internet related to this topic. Later I started working on my literature survey report on Dickson Charge Pump using CMOS technology.

After submitting the report, I started working on the circuit schematic using the open source tool eSim developed by FOSSEE team at IIT Bombay. After doing that, I started researching on 130nm technology and SKY130 PDK by SkyWater Technology. The Udemy course 'VSD Intern - 10-bit DAC design using eSim and Sky130' by Mr. Kunal Ghosh and Mr. Sameer S Durgoji proved to be really helpful in this regard, and by watching this course, I learnt how to replace the standard models of MOSFETs, capacitors and resistors with SKY130 PDK models. After doing that, I initially faced some issues with the simulation using ngspice, later I learnt about the w and l parameters that needs to be given to these models, and by referring the excel sheet which was inside the folder of the MOSFET model I was using, I was able to assign the values of w and l, to obtain a waveform, similar to the one present in the literature survey. I also had troubles launching the ngspice window, and by referring to the slack channel, I was able to sort out my problem, and I was also in a position to help others who had similar problems. The ngspice user manual which came as a part of the eSim installation, proved to be really helpful, and I got myself acquainted with the environment using the manual. At last, I was able to obtain a similar waveform after replacing the models with the SKY130 PDK models, and I was also able to successfully complete my Final Report.
